Another Lewis footballer has featured in a Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC youth team.

Stornoway Athletic goalkeeper, Todd Morrison, joined his namesake from Point, Dòmhnall Alex Morrison, in a keenly contested under-17 match against Alloa FC at the weekend.

Todd Morrison previously played for the Inverness Caley’s junior side stepped up an age group after the team’s regular goalkeeper, Martin MacKinnon, was injured at training.

Although Todd has only recently turned 15, he calmly maintained a clean sheet with a very assured performance.

The match finished with Inverness Caley winning 3-0. Dòmhnall Alex Morrison scored the first and assisted with the second goal.

Another island talent, 15 year old mid-fielder from West Side FC, Sam Mackay, trains every Friday afternoon with Inverness Caley, and has also featured and scored in matches for Caley’s u16 side.

Later this summer, junior football at professional clubs in Scotland is going to be recalibrated with the advent of the new youth programme, Project Brave.

With island boys now featuring for both Inverness Caley and Ross County, the future is looking bright for young island footballers.
