A 32-year-old islander who behaved in a threatening or abusive manner has received a three month jail sentence.

Past offender Alister Macaulay of Druim nan Currag, Callanish, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

The court was told the incident took place in Plantation Road, Stornoway, in April.

A not guilty plea to an allegation of having a offensive weapon, a garden fork - was accepted.
