A man who caused a disturbance at home has been fined.

David Hugh Brown of North Tolsta, Lewis, “lost his temper” with people living in his house for free after they left the electric fire full on, Stornoway Sheriff Court heard.

He went to their room to remonstrate with them and started banging doors while shouting and swearing, said lawyer David Teale.

The solicitor said they weren’t the “easiest of guests,” were “inconsiderate” and didn’t contribute nor were willing to look for work.

Brown, 64, who pleaded guilty to the charge was fined £100.
