An man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Lewis has been named as Angus Chisholm.

 

The 42-year-old from the Carloway area died following the accident on Saturday afternoon.

 

No other vehicle was involved.

 

The accident which was reported to police around 1.30pm occurred on the main road, on the Barvas side of the Brue junction on the westside of the island.

 

Specialist police traffic collision investigators from Dingwall arrived off the ferry to examine the scene on Saturday night.

 

The road was closed for several hours.It reopened later on Saturday night.

 

Police said a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal, as is usual procedure in fatal road traffic collisions.
