The Western Isles has racked up nine medals at the international island games in Sweden.

Kathryn Offer won a gold medal in the swimming event last night.

The 25-year-old from Galson , Ness, was neck and neck with the Cayman Islands’ competitor in the 50 metre freestyle but clinched first place by a fraction of a second.

On Tuesday, Kathryn Offer took bronze in the 100 metre backstroke, very narrowly missing out on second place.
