Resident on the Barvas estate area on Lewis are voting whether to stage a community buy-out.

 

Some 919 postal ballot packs have been issued to eligible voters.

 

People aged 16 years or over and included on the electoral register for Barvas Estate Area are entitled to vote.

 

The ballot is being run on behalf of Urras Sgìre Oighreachd Bharabhais by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

 

Completed voting slips must be received no later than 4pm on Thursday 12 February to be included in the count.

 

The outcome will be revealed following the counting of votes in Barvas Hall on 12 February 2015 at 7.30pm. The count is open to all.

 

A copy of the feasibility study summary has been separately distributed to local households.
