Parts of rural Lewis have been without an internet service following a fault in the Connected Communities network which provides the Western Isles with links to places where BT does not reach.

Residents in villages in the Carloway and westside areas said the system was down for two days this week.

A spokesperson for the HIE-led Connected Communities project confirmed a fault at Carloway caused some disruption.

The problem has now been repaired.
