Sir,

Labour's fairy tales are growing arms and legs. To propose that the current ferry tender process could immediately be stopped suggests that the Labour leaders are totally incompetent. The litigation by the EU and the companies tendering for ferry services would result in financial penalties which would greatly reduce the budget for public services.

If it was so easy to opt out of the tendering process why did Labour proceed with it in 2005?. According to a former Labour minister, the Labour Scottish Government in 2005 were not in charge and were bullied into the tendering process in 2005. What an indictment of Labour's ability to form a government.

The talents of some Labour politicians know no bounds. Without speaking to Alasdair Allan, a local councillor appears to know that Mr Allan prefers a specific ferry operator. His talents at telepathy are rather desperate and he should look for a new hobby. For the same councillor to suggest that the Scottish Government should provide a commercial airline with free aeroplanes reflects his lack of ability as a politician.

As for the privatisation of ferry services, Clyde and Hebrides ferry services were privatised on the 31st December 1969 when CalMac was formed. The latest rants by Labour politicians clearly demonstrates how far they are removed from reality and how inept they would be in representing the needs of the people.
