An islander who possessed indecent images of children has been sent to prison.
At Stornoway Sheriff Court, Jonathan Ferguson of Inaclete Road, Stornoway, was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.

He also accepted breaching a bail condition not to go online by having a mobile phone and a Kindle tablet which were both capable of accessing the internet.
Sheriff David Sutherland sentenced him to 18 months in jail.
