Sgoil na Pairc in South Lochs, Lewis, has improved in a number of important ways, according to the school inspection service, Education Scotland.

Following a recent progress update, the body said staff have improved the quality of the curriculum and plan children’s learning activities more effectively.

Approaches for monitoring and evaluating the quality of the school’s work are improving.

A letter to parents pointed out the pace of progress in improving the quality of children’s learning experiences in the Gaelic Medium class has been too slow.

Another progress report is planned for October.

The original inspection found that most pupils had a positive attitude to learning, were well behaved, confident and enjoyed school. They were also thoughtful and considerate of others’ needs and views, and work well together in pairs and groups
