Plummeting temperatures could lead ti “potentially treacherous driving conditions” and slippery pavements in the Western Isles, warns the Met Office.
Forecasters say a band of sleet and snow showers are expected to affect the islands tonight (Sat), followed by clearer conditions before morning.
As the clearer colder weather follows south overnight, temperatures will fall sharply leading to a widespread ice risk.
The Met Office says this will last well into Sunday morning, creating the risk of difficult driving conditions and travel disruption.
It will feel bitterly cold with brisk northerly winds.
