A complex of eight new flats are planned for Tarbert.

Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) intends to demolish the old police station and build a two storey terrace of modern housing on the site.

Delays in purchasing the vacant property set in when Police Scotland altered their property sales process.

Funding has been allocated for the project and planning permission is being applied for.

Tenders for the building work are likely to be advertised in a couple of months.

Each flat will be two-bedroomed with air-source heating. Most will have a small kitchen and bathroom plus a combined living and dining room. Parking will be to the rear of the property.

The terrace - sited across from the school - will have a single sloping roof.
