Funding for historical society 27/9/14
Stornoway Historical Society has been awarded £1,700 by the Comhairle.
In builds on £500 council funding the body has received as part of £14,038 the Comhairle has spent supporting island historical societies last year.
As well as book and magazine publications; exhibitions, lectures, school talks and historical walks undertaken by Stornoway Historical Society, the organisation this year represented the community during HRH the Earl and Countess of Wessex visit to the Western Isles and former First Minister’s visit to the Iolaire monument on Lewis.
