A  conference for local comainn eachdraidh (historical societies) and other community organisations is to be held in January.

 

The three day event which will look at building a heritage strategy for the Outer Hebrides will be staged at Sgoil Lionacleit, in Benbecula.

 

This includes analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats facing heritage organisations and prioritisation of project ideas.

 

Speakers will include Alison Boyle of The Highland Museum of Childhood and Lorna Cruickshank of Highland Council who will discuss the level of support and resources shared between Highland Council and independent museums in the area.
