Bad weather has delayed Scotland's new air ambulance helicopter on a whistle stop tour of the Western Isles.

People will have the opportunity to view the helicopter when it eventually arrives at island destinations.

At Friday lunchtime the schedule was running around one hour behind due to low cloud and poor visibility.

The Airbus H145 arrived in Castlebay late morning and later landed at Benbecula around 12.10.

The chopper is expected to depart Balivanich airport around 1.10pm.

Arrival at the landing pad by the lower car park at the Stornoway hospital is expected to be around 1.30pm

Departure from Stornoway is about 2pm for the 30 minute flight to Broadford in Skye.

Today's courtesy visits were rearranged after the aircraft broke down last week.
