Hebridean Celtic Festival in full swing

20 July 2017

This year’s HebCelt is well underway with visitors attending from around the world.

Officially the event opened on Thursday night with a concert in An Lanntair but the main gigs are taking place in the big tent on the castle green until Saturday night.

Dougie MacLean was the first headliner on stage with the crowd swaying and singing along. The folk legend encouraged the audience to sing their hearts out to his signature anthem, Caledonia as his performance ended.

Peatbog Faeries also played on the main stage while local singer Eleanor Nicolson as well as Tidelines performed on the Islands’ Stage.

Imelda May and Lucy Spraggan will perform on Friday while The Waterboys close the festival on Saturday night.
