BETHESDA CARE HOME AND HOSPICE
Due to the upper floor development of the care home, we are looking for the following full time and part time staff:
Health Care Assistants
DUTIES
1 Assist with admission and discharge of patients. Appropriate duties would include listing clothing and helping with undressing.
2 Assist with the making of occupied beds, change and make unoccupied beds.
3 Assist with the preparation for meals and with the service of meals and beverages.
4 Assist with feeding patients.
5 Assist with bathing – bed, shower, bath.
6 Assist with hygiene – oral hygiene including teeth, hair care and nails.
7 Assist with the changing of incontinent patients.
8 Assist with the continence regime, i.e. toileting.
9 Assist with giving and removing of bed-
10 Assist with urine tests and the obtaining of simple specimens.
11 Assist ambulant patients with dressing, undressing, going to WC and using sanichairs and commodes.
12 Assist with occupational and diversional therapy including recreational and social activities.
13 Assist with the recording of routine charts, e.g. weight chart, fluid balance chart, etc.
14 Clean and prepare nursing equipment – including routine cleaning of baths and sanitary utensils including bins and buckets after their use.
15 Keep patients bedside cabinets tidy.
16 Attend to flowers.
17 Keep clinical equipment storage cupboards and linen cupboards etc. clean and tidy.
18 Any other duties appropriate to the Grade which may be delegated by Sister or the person in charge.
