Headbutting incident outside island pub 4/8/14
A man who assaulted another male outside licensed premises in Tarbert has been ordered to be of good behaviour for the next six months.
At Stornoway Sheriff Court, William Ross of 7 Ceann an Ora, Harris, pleaded guilty to headbutting his victim.
Procurator fiscal David Teale told the court that the man suffered cuts to his nose and some bruising.
Representing himself, Ross denied a claim that he had also punched the man. He maintained the police report was “inaccurate” and insisted the man walked back into the premises.
He insisted: “It is untrue to say he was helped inside.”
The 23 year old told the sheriff: “I am not normally a violent man. He was winding me up inside the pub. I left and he followed me outside.”
Sheriff David Sutherland deferred sentence until January for good behaviour.
If Ross stays out of trouble he will not appear in court when case is called again
