The tweed was woven by Donald John MacDonald of Barvas for the Shawbost mill, giving the West Side of Lewis a special reason to celebrate the passage of the Queen's Baton on its Western Isles stages next week.
Mr MacDonald said: "It is great to have this direct association between Harris Tweed and the Commonwealth Games. The tweed I was asked to weave by the Shawbost mill is really lovely and quite complex. It will be seen by a huge international audience and I hope it will give another boost to our industry".
Over 50 kilts and jackets have been cut in the striking deep blue Harris Tweed and are set to be seen by over one billion people across the globe during the course of the games.
Harris Tweed Hebrides chief executive, Ian Angus MacKenzie, said: "We are very proud of the part we are playing in Scotland's summer of sport. As well as the Commonwealth Games tweed for the presentation parties, we are official suppliers to the Ryder Cup and that collection has created a great deal of interest.
"It all contributes to the profile of our product and that can only represent a further boost not only for the team at Harris Tweed Hebrides but also the weavers and the whole island economy."
