One of NHS Western Isles’ school nurses is preparing for a close shave along with her daughter as both ladies shave their heads for a very good cause.

Jill Donnelly, who is based at Springfield Road Health Centre, was persuaded by her daughter, Emma, 23, to join her in shaving her head for charity.

Emma is donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment. All money raised will be donated to this year’s Children in Need.

The deed will be carried out in the White Rooms in Stornoway, by hairdressers, Jenny and Heather, on Friday November 14.

The pair have set up a donation page at www.justgiving.com/Jill-and-Emma-go-bald
