Grocery thief is fined 12/10/14
An islander who stole bags of groceries out of a parked car in Stornoway has been fined.
Calum Angus Macleay of Heatherhill, Barvas, Lewis, pleaded guilty to the theft when his case called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.
Procurator fiscal David Teale told the court that the 52-
He was spotted by a householder looking out the window.
He was seen moving on to the second vehicle.
The vehicle owner was alerted and confronted Macleay.
Macleay replied to the owner: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Sheriff David Sutherland imposed a total fine of £600 to be paid at £25 per week.
