Strong winds are set to affect the Western Isles over Monday and Tuesday.

A force eight gale is expected in exposed areas at times.

South easterly winds are due to will increase early Monday morning before easing as a deepening Atlantic low moves slowly between Scotland and Iceland.

Winds will change direction to the south west and strengthen again overnight into Tuesday.

Rain showers are also expected on Monday.

The Met Office said there would be increasingly humid air and poor visibility, along with strong to gales winds for some northern and western areas.
