Gael warnings 18/3/14
A severe gale is forecast to batter the Western Isles over Wednesday and Thursday.
Most of Scotland will experience strong winds though the west coast is set to bear the brunt of the southwesterly gale racing in from the Atlantic.
Wind speeds will pick up on Tuesday night with gusts over 60mph predicted for later on Wednesday in the Hebrides.
Gale warnings have been issued for all coastal areas around Scotland with a severe gale Force 9 forecasted for the Western Isles and the Inner Hebrides.
The Met Office said heavy rain would accompany the southwesterly winds for the Isles and far northwest.
It said gales would also affect the west coast on Thursday.
