A southerly gale is forecast to affect the Western Isles on Friday.
Rising winds strength is set to reach gale force by dawn, particularly in Uist and Barra where 50mph gusts may be experienced. Outbreaks of rain durign the day will be heavier in the Southern Isles
High waves are also expected off Barra.
Some ferries will be affected by rough seas.
The adverse weather is due to ease into the evening.
