A depression forming off eastern Canada on Sunday is set to bring a band of bad weather to the Hebrides.
Wind strength is forecast to increase over Monday with strong gusts in the afternoon. Seas around South Uist and Barra are likely to be rough in the evening at times.
A force eight gale is forecast for Tuesday, touching force nine or even storm force ten in the evening off Uist and Barra. Heavy downpours are also on the cards.
Ferry services, particularly in the Southern Isles, are likely to face disruption.
