Western Isles ferry services face disruption with a gale forecast to affect the Minch on Tuesday.

High winds and a heavy swell will result in rough crossings and cancelled services.

All ferries for Castlebay and for South Uist are cancelled.

The afternoon and overnight sailings on the Stornoway - Ullapool route risk disruption.

Services on the inter-island runs face delays or cancellations.

With the MV Hebrides out of action after running aground, there will be no service for Tarbert or Lochmaddy. Cal Mac said it would contact all travellers with reservations to arrange alternative sailings.

Alternative routes via Leverburgh, Stornoway and Ullapool as well as on the Lochboisdale - Mallaig service are the only options but may be affected by bad weather on Tuesday.
