Allan speaks at Gaelic jobs event 8/3/13
MSP, Alasdair Allan, today spoke as part of a panel at an event in the Nicolson Institute
to promote the employment opportunities that exist for young people with Gaelic.
Alasdair Allan commented: “It was great to be at the Nicolson today and get a chance
to meet with young people who are beginning to think about their future careers.
“As Minister for Gaelic I often find that my difficulty is not a shortage of Gaelic
related jobs but a shortage of applicants to fill them.
“I hope that young people enjoyed today, where they had a chance to meet people in
jobs as varied as the legal profession, broadcasting, politics, and crofting and
that they came away with new ideas for the future. It is very encouraging to see
an event like this conducted entirely in Gaelic filling the Nicolson’s assembly hall.”
