Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will be taking part in Gaelic Twitter Day on Thursday.
Social Media Scotland wish to increase the number of people using Gaelic on Twitter and hope that ‘#Gàidhlig’ will appear regularly on the social media throughout the day, more commonly known as ‘trending.’
Similar initiatives are ongoing to attract people’s attention to other minority languages such as Gaelige and Frisian.
The Comhairle will be tweeting all messages tomorrow in Gaelic to demonstrate its continued support for the language.
