Iseabail Mactaggart of Islay has been appointed for Gaelic media service, MG Alba’s, new post of development director.

 

The role is aimed at strengthening the commercial and creative impact of the Gaelic media production sector.

 

Ms MacTaggart, from Islay, was until recently the member for Scotland on the content board of Ofcom and takes up her new post immediately.

 

Iseabail began her broadcast career at BBC Radio nan Gaidheal, before moving to London where she progressed latterly to become part of the senior editorial team on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Breakfast programme in London.

 

She then moved to headed up Bowmore Distillery's operations in Islay. Her other public appointments included membership of the board of Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
