Twelve-year-old Rachel MacDonald from North Uist, and Amie Ringstead, 9, from Benbecula,
have attended the basketballscotland “Future Starz” national camp, a basketball player
development programme held in Armadale.
The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) became a sponsor of basketballscotland earlier
this year, as part of its ongoing commitment to develop access to sport in the Outer
Hebrides.
SSC HR director, Debra Nichol-Storie accompanied the girls to the national camp
where they joined over 430 other young people from across Scotland to participate
in an intensive six-hour training session with a team of fifteen experienced coaches.
