Funfair move

The Stornoway funfair is being located in the Fisherman’s Car Park on North Beach Street this year.

Funfair-goers were getting soaked by waves and spray coming over the harbour wall at its usual stance in South Beach Street car park. Fair equipment was also damaged in the exposed location.

Council officials have allowed an one-off exception to their policy over its location which permits the fair to move to North Beach for the Christmas lights’ ceremony week.

The fair will operate until Saturday night.
