The funeral service of Shanahan MacInnes of Benbecula will take place at St Mary’s Church, Griminish, at 11am tomorrow (Tuesday).

The cortège will leave the Uist and Barra Hospital at 10.30am.

Mourners are advised they may wear a splash of pink in Shanahan’s honour.

Ms MacInnes was found dead over a week ago after she was reported missing.

A large number of locals turned out in inclement weather to help in the search for Ms MacInnes in conjunction with the emergency services.

Police Scotland said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
