A fundraising ceilidh for the local branch of Action for Children is taking place in Stornoway Town Hall on Friday.

The award winning band Deoch ‘n’ Doras is flying in especially for the occasion.

Organisers say there are fantastic raffle prizes to be won and, as well as a traditional bar and snacks, there will be a range of cocktails and mocktails available.

Doors open at 7 pm and there’s a complimentary glass of bubbles for everyone arriving before 8 pm.

In addition, there is an auction where online bidding has already started. Details of the auction items, along with further details of the night, can be found on the Ceilidh Hebrides Facebook page.

The event is organised by a group of four locals - Alison Ross, Allan Macdonald, David Mackay and Erica Murray.

An organiser said: The first Ceilidh Hebrides was held last year and raised an amazing £4,000 for the local Action for Children.

“It’s hoped that folk will come along again this year to enjoy a fantastic night of dancing in the town hall and support a worthwhile local cause.”

Tickets cost £10 and are available on the night and in advance from Spar Convenience Store and Harris Tweed Hebrides shop.
