A Lewis youngster has raised over £500 for charity after growing his hair for 12 months.

Twelve year old Charlie Macmillan from Point finally got a haircut this week and is donating his locks to the Princess Trust, a charity who provide real-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

At the same time, he received sponsorship via a donation page and is awarding the money to the Leanne Fund - an island-based local organisation working for young people with cystic fibrosis.

His hair was cut by Moira Matheson at the Attic Hair Studio.
