When Scotland, including many on the Western Isles, voted 'No' on the 18th September they voted to let London control Scotland’s funding.
Scotland’s pocket money is calculated through the Barnett formula, which is already being discussed as due to be cut by Westminster. This is on top off the £25 billion+ austerity cuts promised by George Osborne for next year.
When we look west and start to see the wells being drilled off the Hebrides remember, the revenue fromthat oil could have built that linkspan and much more besides.
