Freshwater Operative – Family Breeding Unit
Isle of North Uist

Required for our breeding program, based at Langass Hatchery in North Uist, this varied and highly interesting role includes: husbandry and stripping of broodstock during the freshwater stage, supply of ova to the company’s other freshwater facilities, rearing of salmon for our Family Breeding Program, from green ova to smolt and all daily routine involved with the above.
Applicants should be highly motivated and dedicated individuals with a keen attention to detail, be able to operate well as part of a small focused team and work flexibly to meet the demands of the job. Previous breeding program / freshwater aquaculture experience would be useful but is not essential as training will be provided. Strong technical aptitude or a scientific interest and knowledge would also be beneficial.
Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday plus weekend working and alarm call duties on a rota basis.
