Annabel Goldie, the former leader of the Scottish Conservatives, is visiting Stornoway  ahead of the official launch of the general election campaign.

She is currently the constitutional spokesperson for the party and also sits in the House of Lords as Baroness Goldie of Bishopton.

On her visit, she will meet with representatives from Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, business leaders and with members of the Western Isles Conservative Association.

Annabel Goldie said: “With a general election approaching this is an exciting time for voters throughout the United Kingdom so it is a particular pleasure to be visiting Stornoway.

“Voters throughout the UK have a clear choice they can either support the return of a Conservative Government focused on sustaining vital economic recovery or throw that recovery to the winds by voting for a Labour Government either directly or indirectly through the SNP puppet master, this is no time for such gambles.”
