A few weeks ago I wrote to the returning officer for the referendum in the Western Isles drawing his attention to lots of bus shelters still having posters on them promoting YES. And looking very tatty after a year.
I received a reply saying “The YES campaign is no longer in existence so I feel that the materials may simply have to await whatever bus shelter cleaning schedule our technical services department have in place.”
I hope that the stalwarts of the YES team will help reduce costs to the Comhairle by removing their own signs of passage for a failed notion from council owned property.
Come on guys, a bit of hard labour to save the Comhairle money, please. The island will look better for a few minutes work.
