A flood alert for the Western Isles warns of a risk of coastal flooding continuing until Monday.

Water levels at high tide will be high but not exceptional, with the main risk coming from large waves overtopping causeways, sea walls and defences.

The greatest wave action is expected from Christmas Day into Boxing Day.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) said at risk are coastal roads, causeways and isolated properties exposed to the west.
