A coastal flood alert has been issued by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

The agency said a combination of high tides, gale force winds and large waves presents the risk of flooding from waves and spray overtopping on exposed coastal areas during periods of high tides through to Thursday.

This could lead to flooding of isolated properties and exposed roads.

The greatest risk is tonight on west facing roads and coasts in the Southern Isles. High tide peaks around 7pm.
