The volunteer crew of Stornoway RNLI were out on shout for nearly eight six hours yesterday (Tues) as the 'Tom Sanderson' lifeboat launched to the aid of a broken down fishing boat.
An 18 metre long fishing boat suffered engine failure around ten miles north of the Butt of Lewis in winds over 30 mph and a high confused swell.
The lifeboat crew established a tow line between the two vessels and towed the casualty to Stornoway harbour, arriving at 11pm.
