A 20 metre fishing boat alerted coastguards that it suffered a fouled propeller at lunchtime on Sunday.
Stornoway lifeboat launched to go to the aid of the stricken vessel.
However, the fishing boat crew managed to clear the debris from the propeller and the lifeboat was stood down before arriving on the scene.
