Two garden sheds outside residential properties were deliberately set on fire in Stornoway at the weekend.
Police Scotland are investigating the wilful fire raising incident at Mackenzie Street and are seeking assistance from the public to identify the culprits.
The alarm was raised at 6.20am on Saturday morning with two fire crews attending.
One of the sheds was totally destroyed in the blaze.
Fortunately the fire was extinguished before the flames could spread to adjoining homes just metres away though panes of glass in one property had begun to crack and break.
Western Isles Police is appealing to anyone who may have information which could assist their enquiries to get in touch by calling 101.
