An islander who verbally threatened people has been fined £1,000.

John Christie pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour by shouting, swearing and making offensive remarks when he appeared from custody in October.

The court heard the 29-year-old of  21 St Brendan’s Road, Castlebay, threw food at his home address on 5 October.

He also verbally threatened violence to the occupants and to two police officers.
