Ferry passengers with Hogmanay plans are urged to make their way to destinations today before stormy seas curtail sailings.

MV Loch Seaforth’s timetable for New Year’s Eve faces disruption or cancellation due to a forecast of wild winds and sea swell between Stornoway and Ullapool.  Today’s (Monday) sailings are on yellow alert due to incoming adverse weather with passengers asked to allow plenty of time for check-in as her skipper intends to sail as soon as everyone is onboard.

The sailing from Lochboisdale to Oban is cancelled today as the vessel did not return to the island after a weather delayed run yesterday.  Tuesday’s service is cancelled so the Lord of the Isles’ final sailing for Uist will be an alternative midnight arrival from Oban tonight (Monday).

Bad weather means the Sound of Barra service as well as the Skye triangle route are on yellow alert today and tomorrow.
