Ferry passengers with Hogmanay plans are urged to make their way to destinations
today before stormy seas curtail sailings.
MV Loch Seaforth’s timetable for New Year’s Eve faces disruption or cancellation
due to a forecast of wild winds and sea swell between Stornoway and Ullapool. Today’s
(Monday) sailings are on yellow alert due to incoming adverse weather with passengers
asked to allow plenty of time for check-in as her skipper intends to sail as soon
as everyone is onboard.
The sailing from Lochboisdale to Oban is cancelled today as the vessel did not return
to the island after a weather delayed run yesterday. Tuesday’s service is cancelled
so the Lord of the Isles’ final sailing for Uist will be an alternative midnight
arrival from Oban tonight (Monday).
Bad weather means the Sound of Barra service as well as the Skye triangle route are
on yellow alert today and tomorrow.
