The MV Loch Seaforth has been held up in Ullapool until 7pm at least to await passengers delayed by a major road traffic accident at Glen Coe.
A section of the A82 at Glen Coe is closed and traffic face a 55 mile detour.
The ferry plans to depart at 7pm but will remain beyond this time if travellers advise the Ullapool ticket office.
