Most Western Isles' ferry services are cancelled on Sunday because because of a severe gale and rough seas.

Storm force winds have been experienced across the islands.

Sea conditions and wind speeds in the north Minch - and across the Hebrides - are forecast to worsen further in the afternoon.

The MV Hebrides made a run from Skye to Lochmaddy but is now stormbound until Monday.

The MV Loch Seaforth is punching through heavy waves on the Stornoway - Ullapool crossing. However, her later sailings may be disrupted.
