High winds and rough seas are causing disruption to some Western Isles ferry services.

Morning sailings on the Sound of Barra route have been cancelled due to high winds. The first two sailings between Ardmhor and Eriskay did not operate.

In South Uist , the MV Lord of the Isles could not sail until a force eight gale eased slightly. The ferry was buffeted by strong southerly winds and choppy seas on her voyage to Mallaig.

Cal Mac also warned the Castlebay - Oban service is liable to disruption or delay.
