High winds and rough seas affected Western Isles ferry services on Sunday.

Adverse weather conditions disrupted the Clansman's sailings. The afternoon departure out of Oban was delayed until 6.40pm. The vessel did not go to South Uist.

The afternoon's Skye to Harris ferry service was cancelled.

The Barra to Oban sailing did not operate.

Deteriorating conditions meant the MV Lord of the Isles remained moored at Lochboisdale until strong winds eased. She then went directly to Oban with no stop at Castlebay.

There were two additional Sound of Barra sailings for passengers from Barra to connect with the service.

The late afternoon schedule between Barra and Eriskay was brought forward.
