A heavy swell off the coast is affecting Western Isles ferry services.

The Loch Bhrusda’s first sailing to Eriskay was cancelled due to sea conditions. Her last sailings today are doubtful.

Afternoon and evening sailings of the MV Loch Seaforth are cancelled. The vessel made a return trip to Ullapool in the morning but on arrival at Stornoway will tie up for the rest of the day.

Afternoon sailings on the Sound of Harris are liable to weather disruption.

Meanwhile, a forecast gale on Sunday evening has resulted in the Castlebay ferry’s timetable being brought forward. In a bid run ahead of the beat the The ship will leave Barra at 5.30am some two and a half hours earlier than usual.
